“The title, Flerty, is a made up word! The flute part is written as a more fluid-accompaniment-ostinato-harp-like part. I have switched the instruments’ traditional roles so that the harp is now melody-carrier and the flute the accompanist with a wee flirtation of a dance in the middle between the two instruments. I have also swapped the
conventional registration relationship between these two harmonious instruments.
